The Anthony Giordano Gallery at Dowling College presents a retrospective of one of the leading 20th century American Abstract Expressionist painters, Milton Resnick. Entitled Milton Resnick: The Life of Paint, the show features work spanning the 1940s to the early years of the 21st century. The canvases celebrate the infusion of life into the brushstrokes of paint, a key element of the artist's style. It also marks the first comprehensive showing of Resnick's art since his passing in 2004. The Anthony Giordano Gallery at Dowling College is dedicated to exhibiting and promoting contemporary, innovative, and experimental work by established artists, unaffiliated artists, emerging artists, and artists primarily from the New York tri-state metropolitan area. Through exhibitions and education programs the gallery reflects, reinforces, and complements the curricular dimensions of the Visual Arts Department and addresses the cultural life and enrichment of the Dowling College community, the public, artists, and the Oakdale community at large. |
